About Me
A maker of sarcastic comments, a pursuer of big dreams
I am a two-time graduate of the University of Georgia, with an undergraduate degree in digital broadcast journalism and a master's degree in sport management and policy.

At the beginning of my undergraduate studies, I wanted to be a news reporter and anchor. This remained my goal for the first three years of college, but as I went into my junior year, I began questioning whether or not this was truly my aspiration. Often, in studying journalism, I found that sports were often the only “good news stories” to report each day, and this realization initiated a shift in my career interests. I believe that sports are a source of inspiration, hope and examples of overcoming obstacles and challenges, even in today’s world which may seem full of “bad news.”
I was inspired by Shaquem Griffin’s journey to play in the NFL. I was in awe of Serena Williams’ epic return to tennis after having a baby. I was touched by the story of Devon Gales, the Southern University wide receiver who was paralyzed in a game against the Georgia Bulldogs — who the University of Georgia went on to build a wheelchair-accessible home for and has continued to support his family over the years. These stories are just three of countless examples of why I am passionate about sports and aspire to work in sports communication. Sports show us that we can overcome major obstacles and that there is much more to them than statistics, winning or losing.

With the ultimate goal of working in sports communication, I hope to each day experience the “good news” and unifying impact that sports have on our society throughout my career.

Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, I was unable to begin my career in the sports industry. Since graduation, I have been working in a boutique marketing agency within the financial services industry. I believe this experience has been invaluable, and will only help to further my career aspirations as I transition back into the sport management field one day.

I am hardworking, creative and love a challenge. I am an Enneagram Type 7 and an ENFJ. I love spending time with my family, dancing and (reluctantly) cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs and the New York Jets.
